Heather Davidson-Meyn introduced a unique behavioural demand response program for schools at the 20th Annual ESource Forum in September of 2007 in Boulder, Colorado.
The presentation (published below) covers successes and lessons learned in reaching out to, and actively engaging, students, teachers, principals, caretakers, schools boards and utilities in a common goal of reducing energy demand. At the time of presenting the program pilot was in the final report stage after completing a full school-year (2006-2007) of activities in schools in and around Toronto, Canada. One of the components of the project was the construction of the What is the energy drill? website. The website also features the Energy Drill movie.
