SA will reach Kyoto Protocol targets despite the nation's failure to sign the agreement, the State Government has vowed. State Environment Minister John Hill yesterday launched the draft greenhouse strategy for SA, committing to cut greenhouse gas emissions by the target set by the Kyoto Protocol. However, details of specific projects or incentives are largely absent from the draft strategy. Mr Hill said new CSIRO projections showed the mean temperature in SA was likely to increase by 1C to 6C in the north of the state by 2070 and by 0.6C to 4.4C in the south. Link
