Six months after the ‘electroshock’ in Copenhagen, the international climate negotiations will resume in Bonn, from 31 May to 11 June, relaunching at the same time the political manoeuvring in the wings and a number of related meetings outside the UN framework. The international conference on the climate and forests, in Oslo on 26 and 27 May, ended with a commitment by a fair number of countries to raise aid to combat deforestation to nearly US$4 billion by 2012. The Asian Global Climate Alliance, on 30 May in Bangladesh, gave Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard a chance to meet the Asian group.
