Ontario's environmental commissioner is recommending road tolls and other charges to help the province cut the greenhouse gases it produces. In his annual progress report on greenhouse gas reductions, Gord Miller calls for a comprehensive assessment of how road pricing can help in the battle against climate change. Mr. Miller says the transportation sector is the single largest producer of greenhouse gas emissions in Ontario, and steps must be taken to make public transit a more attractive option.
